In 2015 KiwiFIRST transitioned to a year round FIRST LEGO League program specifically taylored to our school year. Next season's challenge release and our NZ FIRST LEGO League Championship event are now aligned to the first weekend in September giving teams/schools the opportunity to plan ahead rather than scrambling to meet an end of year deadline. It's entirely up to teams how they schedule their FIRST LEGO League actitivies during the 12 month season and we anticipate improved learning outcomes. In New Zealand there is currently 1 official championship tournament and anyone can host an unofficial FIRST LEGO League event at any time to suit regional requirements. Get in touch if you're interested in hosting a regional/local event. Want to know what an FLL event looks like? Take a look at the 2016 event photos.
